The LNA is one of the oldest National Nurses Association in Africa and the only nationally and internationally recognized institution to speak for nurses in Liberia.
Established in June 1947, the Liberian Nurses Association usually referred to as LNA is one of the oldest National Nurses Association in Africa. It was established by group of Liberian nurses with the aim of:

Mission of LNA
Advocate for a climate in which nursing services can be provided effectively as well as broaden the base of professional judgment and ethical responsibilities
Governance
The LNA is governed by seven (7) elected officials with two years tenure: the President, Vice president for Administration, Vice President for Operation, Secretary General, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, and a Chaplain.
